BR-03: Princess Polly and the Pony(Davidson 2007)

"The princess has won!"(p.38)

There was a little princess. Her name is Polly.

She was in trouble. She rode on a pony, and she got mud on her costume. The King and Queen were always angry. “Princess must not gallop,” the King said crossly. “Being a princess is boring,” said Princess Polly. “I can’t do ANYTHIG.” “You could show us your princess wave” said the Queen.

The King showed princess his crown collection. On the way, Polly spotted a poster. It was written about PONY GAMES. She thought that she want to join in. The King saw the poster, and said “Of course, you can’t enter.”
She thought about her costume during the King talked about his collection.

On the day of the race, Polly jumped out of bed. She hides her face, and put on her costume. She rode on her pony, and galloped away to Strawberry Hill.
The race was about to begin. They were off. The pony in first place slipped in some mud. The pony in second place couldn’t stop in time. Also, the pony in third place crashed into them both.

Then, Princess Pony was finished, and she was a winner. The Queen said “Off with your hat and cloak”, and she was tugging her cloak. The crowd gasped. “It’s the Princess,” they cried. “You are disgrace,” said the King. However, as he spoke the crowed began to cheer Polly. “Will you give me a wish?” said Polly. “Oh dear!” said the Queen. “I suppose we must.” Then, Polly could get a first prize.
