BR 1-01: The Incredible Present (Castor, 2004)

                                                         

 "Happy Birthday, Lily!"(p.18)

                                                                        

This story is written about birth day present. There is a girl whose name is Lily. She lives with her parents and  her granny. Lily's parents always gives Lily some crazy presents. In her birth day, her parents went to travel, so she could not cerebrate her birthday with her parents. However she got an incredible present from her parents. It was a small bag, and it could offer anything which Lily wanted. However it offered her strange things. For example, the robot that made beds, the space buggy, and smelly cat. After that, her parents came home, and her dad turned the bag inside out. Then, strange things disappeared. Since their life  returern to as usual.

In Kumamoto castle

I went to see the cherry blossoms at Kumamoto castle with my friends.  There were full blown blossoms, so there were a lot of cherry blossom viewers. Many people brought their lunch, and eats them. However we never bring it, because we had bad memories about cherry blossom viewing. It was last year, we went to Kumamoto castle to see the cherry blossoms. We brought our lunch and snacks. There were many cherry blossom viewers. However, also there are many doves. Doves closed people, and tried to getting food. We were very terrible them, so we did not bring our lunch and snacks this year. The cherry blossoms were very beautiful, so we took a lot of pictures. This year's memories became supreme.

FACo in Fukuoka

The day, I went to see a fashion show in Fukuoka with my mother. It called "Fukuoka Asia Collection(FACo). It was my first time to watch that fashion show. There are many shops. For example, foods, cosmetics, drinks, nails, and beauty salon. I was very excited. I reserved a seat which is near by runway, so we could watch the show at close quartes. There were a lot of models who is very famous. I could see my favorite model,whose name is Nishiuchi Mariya. She is SEVENTEEN model. SEVENTEEN is fashion magazine for teenaiger. I was very glad to see her. There had 3STAGES, fashion stage, artist stage, free talk stage. There were a lot of actorand mucsian. They were very beautiful. Especially, artist stage is very excited, because I could see my favorite artist whose name is GENERATIONS. They are team of EXILE. I often go their events and lives. When they show up, I was confused, because they are very cool. They sang two songs. One of the their new song and the other is my favorite song. There were very excited stage. FACo made me happy. I want to go there again. 

Essay 1-01a: Letter to My Host Family

Hi! My name is Mayu. I'm nineteen years old. I am a university student in Japan. I'm from Kumamoto. Have you ever been to Japan? I think that it is a very beautiful country. There are many placces to visit. I'm going to stay with you for six weeks this summer. I decidedto go to America ,because I want to learn about America. As well as English, habits, how you live there, culture, and so on. While I'm in America, I would like to go many places. Such as Walt Disney World, Grand canyon, Atatue of Liberty, Universal Studious Holly wood, Times Square and the White House. I have never been to America, so I want to go to as many places as possible. Please take me to places which you recommend. Next, I will tell you about food. Sorry, I don't like meat, so I can't eat it. However, I like vegetables very much. Also, I like carbonydrate. Such as rice, Chinese noodles, Japanese Udon, Japanese Soba ,and Spaghetti.

My hobbies are listening to music and going shopping. I often listen to the music of EXILE TRIBE. EXILE TRIBE are Japanese musicians. There are three groups, EXILE, 3Jsoul Btothers, and GENERATIONS. They are dance and vocal performance groups.They are very cool, and makes me very happy. Also I go their contact with mymother, my sister, and my friends every year. They are a very famous performance group in Japan. I want to recommend them to you.

Do you know any Japanese culture? I would like to introdue Japanese Shodo. Shodo has a long history. It has been for a long time in Japan. It uses a Fude(brush), Sumi(ink), and paper. Shodo looks cool and its style is very beautiful. I want to introduce you Japanese culture, and want to learn American culture. I am looking forward to seeing you this summer.
